- Intro to Roller Dance - Foundations
Roll into confidence with our Adults' Intro to Roller Dance classes. Learn the foundations of roller dance, from the beginner moves to following a roller dance choreography. Wednesdays 7.45pm - 8.45pm. Intro to Roller Dance - Foundations Class 🤩 Ready to take your skating to the next level? Our Introduction to Roller Dance class is a fun, upbeat way to learn the foundations of roller dance while building confidence, style and flow on your skates. You’ll learn foundational moves like the Downtown, Zero and Hez, plus start putting your new skills together into fun roller dance choreography. 💃🛼 This class is beginner friendly, but you’ll need to be comfortable standing on your skates, rolling forwards and backwards, and stopping confidently. No skate hire is available for this class, so please bring your own skates. Come ready to move, learn, laugh and discover just how much fun roller dance can be! WHEN IS INTRO TO ROLLER DANCE? Wednesdays 7:45pm - 8:45pm at VENTspace 23 Glenelg Street South Brisbane. (During August and September, we may have to miss some classes due to coach availability, or move days and/or time slots. We will let you know in advance when that is occurring. If the date is not available to book yet, please check again soon.) The sessions are held at our Roller Studio in South Brisbane at VENTspace. The surface is concrete, with some minor faults. It is not 100% polished. During your first session, make yourself familiar with the surface. Your protective gear is recommended, as always. Please note - if you need to reschedule your session, you can do this via the Manage My Bookings link, 12 hours before the class begins. Any no shows are forfeited. Roller Studio is not a rink. It is an arts warehouse with a concrete floor surface. As the venue is shared with other community groups, there may be occasions when the entire floor is not fully accessible, and items such as chairs or tables may be present in different areas of the space. Our Roller Dance Australia volunteers will make every effort to ensure the floor is cleared and prepared prior to participant entry. If you notice any obstacles or conditions that may impact your ability to skate safely, please notify one of our volunteers immediately so the issue so we can rectify it. Your safety is always our priority.

Roll into confidence with our Adults' Learn to Skate classes. Master the foundations of skating forwards and backwards, finding your balance, and learning how to stop with ease. Wednesdays 6.30pm - 7.30pm. Learn to Skate - Beginner Foundations Class 🤩 Is there a better place to begin? Our Adults' Learn to Skate classes are the perfect starting point for anyone new to roller skating or returning after a break, helping you build confidence and strong foundations from your very first roll. Led by one of our experienced Roller Dance Australia coaches, this class focuses on building confidence, good technique, and strong foundations so you can enjoy skating safely and enjoy having fun on wheels. In this supportive, beginner friendly one hour session, you’ll learn the core fundamentals: -how to stand and balance confidently -skate forwards and backwards, -beginner transition, - turn safely, and - stop with control. This booking page is for skate hire for one of our Free Sunday events in Brisbane. Please check the events in our Facebook page for dates. https://www.facebook.com/secretrollerdisco.au/events We have sizes 4-14 in US Ladies sizes, or the Euro equivalent is 35-46. We have limited sizes available in smaller skates for the younger kids. Please use the size chart on our Skate Hire web page to help choose your size. Skate hire must be booked and paid prior to the day of the event. We will only bring the sizes that are booked and paid for prior to the day. All bookings for skate hire must be received by 5pm on the Saturday before the session. All skaters skate at their own risk and will be requested to sign this waiver to skate.
